Golden hour in San Francisco, especially in the autumn and winter months, is always a dream to shoot in. This time more than any, I really love shooting in open spaces that let me fully take advantage of the golden light. We first met with Scarlet & Anthony at the end of 2019 — back in the Before Times when it was still normal to meet people face-to-face — and together we happily talked about their May 2020 wedding day. We waited a loooong time to get the perfect sunset for Nicole & Amir’s Sutro Baths engagement photos, and here we have it! I get so excited when I’m photographing a couple who is super in love — you can see it in their eyes — and I think it shows in the photos too. Laura Beth and Andrew are expecting their first child!! After scaling down their original wedding plans to a “lemonade” Zoom wedding last year, LB kept with the theme and wore a lemon dress for her maternity photos. I loved it! This was a really quick mini-shoot right outside their home, so even though we didn’t spend a lot of time together it was wonderful to catch up a bit and get some beautiful maternity photos at Sutro Baths. What a treat it was to photograph this couple + family photo session! Anh & Cliff (ok, mostly Anh… according to Cliff) had prepared themselves and their kids with matching outfits from head to toe, and even had cute pieces for their two dogs to wear. Every detail was perfectly planned, and I loved every part of it — but my favorite was the mommy/daughter coordination, which was simply adorable! [ read more … ]
