This proposal will go down in our books — and memories — as one of our most special, one that we’ll be remembering fondly for many years to come. Jason had prepared a special scrapbook of photos to give to Erin to recap their journey thus far, and also to symbolize the (literal) new page they’d be adding to their story that day. He managed to get her up the trek to the top of Slacker Hill without giving away the surprise, and the book was waiting for them, carefully positioned at just the right spot. The hills of Marin are some of the most scenic places in the Bay Area, or really possibly anywhere. The area is certainly my personal favorite for a good view of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, and not only that, but certain spots can be very private and secluded. “Karl the Fog” is a fickle beast, though perhaps a generous one at times: on the evening of Renzo and Joseph’s proposal, he decided to roll into the city like a low, cottony blanket, gently covering the slopes and curves of the Bay inlet. While visibility near ground level was nearly zero, the top of Slackers Hill was just high enough to peek over the low-lying fog, revealing an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime view of the Golden Gate Bridge poking up through the fog, with the city far away in the distance beyond.
