Last weekend, Alex brought Lauren up to a fantastic vista point with a sweeping Golden Gate Bridge view, for a small, romantic picnic… or was it? In reality, he was planning to pop the question and wanted a beautiful SF backdrop for that special moment. As the two walked up the hill and towards the bridge, I quietly got into position to capture it all. Lauren was very, very excited — if she hadn’t been eagerly waiting for this moment for a while, it certainly looked that way to me! — and even wiped away a joyful tear as Alex asked for her hand in marriage. The most appreciated surprises are often the least expected. Pranav and Nikhita went for a morning hike up to Slackers Hill, one of my favorite places in the Bay Area, with its stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco — but of course, she didn’t suspect the true purpose. I love that they’re both dressed in casual hiking gear, complete with a backpack, hat, and sunglasses, just having a fun hike on a beautiful morning, just like they had done many times in the past. But then, after briefly taking in the panoramic view, Pranav knelt down with the ring he had hidden, and he said the words that would take their relationship to the next stage. Her reaction says it all 🙂

Traveling all the way from Mexico, Miguel managed to keep the ring cleverly hidden away from his girlfriend Viviana until the time had come and they had reached the perfect setting. After taking in the sights and sounds of San Francisco for a day, they hiked up to Slacker Hill to watch the sunset together, and that’s when he popped the question. With this beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay as his witness, Miguel asked Viviana to be his wife, and she of course excitedly agreed. [ read more … ]

Gajan and Hasini’s surprise proposal at Slackers Hill in the Marin Headlands was nothing short of magical. This proposal will go down in our books — and memories — as one of our most special, one that we’ll be remembering fondly for many years to come. Jason had prepared a special scrapbook of photos to give to Erin to recap their journey thus far, and also to symbolize the (literal) new page they’d be adding to their story that day. He managed to get her up the trek to the top of Slacker Hill without giving away the surprise, and the book was waiting for them, carefully positioned at just the right spot.
