John and Emily came from southern California to visit San Francisco for her birthday. He had been planning this event, with the help of Emily’s sister, for months! The day after Emily’s birthday, while on a short walk along the path in front of the Palace of Fine Arts, John presented her with a stunning ring, and boy was she surprised!! And that wasn’t the end of this precious proposal — John had arranged for many of Emily’s family members to be waiting for them on the other side of the pond! Take a look at the photos below. Having flown in all the way from Texas for the long Memorial Day weekend, Andrew planned on proposing to Anna in San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background as a backdrop. As luck would have it, our friend Karl the Fog showed up… but though we weren’t able to see the bridge, the fog gave the beach a romantic, almost dreamy feel, and I especially love how Anna’s vibrantly-colored dress stands out in the photos! Congrats to this beautiful couple 🙂

Rudy is the kind of person who’s very precise, specific, and knows exactly what he wants. It made working together on this shoot so smooth and easy, and I’m sure Zoey feels very lucky to have someone like him! He had it all planned out — just before the proposal, they spent an afternoon at the de Young Museum, followed by a relaxing, romantic walk around Stow Lake. After passing a small pagoda, a calm waterfall, and a myriad of couples on paddleboats, Rudy and Zoey crossed an idyllic stone arch bridge to the spot where he proposed. Ashwin flew from London to San Francisco last weekend to give Chai the sweetest surprise!

The two first met each other in London when they were 15, then reconnected a few years ago… which sounds uncannily similar to the story of yours truly! After lots of planning and help from Chai’s friends, Ashwin was ready to give her a huge surprise at the top of the Lyon Street Steps.
