Despite all that 2020 has brought us, this year still has its bright spots. Amy is expecting in the next few weeks (yay!), and we went out for a maternity photo shoot to memorialize the joy and anticipation of her pregnancy journey. Since she and her husband are leaving San Francisco, we chose to take her maternity photos at Baker Beach, right in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. This was a maternity and family session mixed into one, made extra fun by little Benji 🙂

Long-distance relationships are hard (we would know!)… and certainly even more of a challenge in COVID times. So we have a ton of respect and admiration for those couples with the strength and dedication to make it work. Last weekend, R’s girlfriend was going to be in town for just a couple of days, and he had a beautiful surprise proposal planned out way in advance at this San Francisco lookout. Blair and Fernando are a bit like us a few years ago — in a cross-border long distance relationship between the US and Canada. But Blair decided to “put a ring on it,” so to speak, in a more unique way 🙂 Flying and traveling have been a big part of their lives, so what could have been more appropriate than an airport terminal surprise proposal right after Fernando got off his Air Canada flight into SFO? Amy and David’s engagement session was relaxed, fun, and perhaps most of all, beautiful! We had initially planned on starting at Pier 7 and then heading over to Sutro Baths for sunset, but alas, the weather that day wasn’t meant to be. The fog over Richmond/Sunset remained thick through the afternoon, so we flipped our shoot around to start by the oceanside and catch sunset at the Embarcadero waterfront instead, where the sun was still peeking out over the clouds.

Aditya’s proposal to Labdhi was to set be on the oceanside, on a little ledge with a picture-perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. He had arranged quite a bit in advance for 30ish of their friends & family to hide in the nooks and crannies of the trails down below the spot where he would ask his girlfriend to be his forever. Even though the proposal wasn’t a total shock — she had known he was going to pop the question sooner or later — I think Labdhi was still quite surprised at the flower petals leading to the spot, the “Labdhi will you marry me” wooden signs decorated with flowers, and of course, the crowd that came out of the bushes to congratulate them afterwards.
