Five years ago, Chai and a few of her girlfriends walked over to the Lyon Street Steps for some afternoon tea. She thought her boyfriend Ashwin was at home halfway across the world in London, but in fact, he was walking up from the bottom of the steps, ready to surprise her with a marriage proposal… and the rest is history.

Now happily married as husband and wife, they decided to celebrate five years since she said yes by going back to the exact spot for some proposalversary photos. Zach and Jenn’s Hawk Hill surprise proposal was exactly as happy and exciting as the photos below show — Jenn was literally jumping up and down! I was super excited when Zach chose this spot, as we’ve done proposals all up and down the Marin Headlands but never at Hawk Hill (until now). It’s actually really perfect and worked out wonderfully, as the location is relatively quiet and offers an incredible view of the Golden Gate Bridge and of San Francisco. [ read more … ]

Love is in the air — quite literally! One of the most unique and spectacular ways to propose is to write it out in the air through skywriting, in huge mile-high letters where everyone can see from miles around. Tigran had arranged for a pilot to spell out “Nastya marry me” high over the Golden Gate Bridge (Nastya being the short form of his fiancee’s name) while they were visiting SF from out of town. What an absolutely incredible surprise proposal! The amount of effort Daniel went through to put together this dream proposal for his now-fiancée Lola was nothing short of amazing. The abbreviated version is that he had chartered the Diamond Seas Yacht for a cruise around the SF Bay, and as an even grander gesture, had hired Skytypers to write out a giant D🤍L in the skies above them as he proposed.
