This sweet couple flew all the way from their home in Calgary to San Francisco — where they had their first date four years ago. We had gotten so used to seeing the summer fog, and the especially-thick cover earlier that week, that when we arrived at Baker Beach to capture I&J’s proposal, the sight of the Golden Gate Bridge actually felt strange. Sam’s proposal was a very special one. Sure, the Sausalito Bridgeway promenade is a very picturesque spot, great for a romantic walk along the Bay, but it was also much more than that: decades ago, Sam’s dad proposed at the same spot! I really love it when our couples incorporate such meaningful and personal things like that 🙂 And Christina’s reaction was so cute when she realized we were there snapping photos of the proposal, which you can see in the photos below. She was so excited that her hands were still shaking even while we were doing portraits afterwards! Congrats guys!

Tim wanted to make his San Francisco trip with his girlfriend Jackie extra special, so he brought along a little ? surprise! The pair took an early morning trip out to the Land’s End Labyrinth while it was totally empty and had a nice moment to themselves, while we quietly took some photos from a distance. E & E’s surprise proposal was the works! He had hired Captain Larry (Just Dreaming Yacht) for a private cruise on the San Francisco Bay with them and six of their close friends. What an incredible way to propose! The afternoon was an extra fun one for us as well — we arrived a bit early to don crew uniforms, complete with nametags reading “Eric” and “Marie” which would be our identities for the first half of the trip until the surprise was revealed. Katie and Alfred asked me to take their engagement photos and I was so happy to run around with this beautiful couple! They were very comfortable in front of my cameras and I could tell the deep love between them by the way they looked at each other! Katie is really sweet and Alfred is a caring gentleman — a perfect match! Their wedding will be in Miami next year with friends and family flying from everywhere. I’m sure it will be a perfect day full of joy and I’m really happy for you two!
