Kim & Raoul met in one of my favorite cities in the world — Vancouver! Maybe I had even bumped into them unknowingly many years back when I lived there too 😀 For their engagement photos, we hit up the very distinctly San Francisco location of Baker Beach for their beach sunset engagement session. There’s a great amount of variety here, with woods, beach, and a Golden Gate Bridge view all within a few minutes’ walk. It was super empty that day, and it was as if they had the whole beach to themselves!

I got to first meet Emily and Josh just two days before their San Francisco City Hall ceremony, at Emily’s best friend’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid. (And of course they returned the favor — you can see Jess & Jason in some of these ceremony photos!) MacLane and Amy went for a bit of a walk last week, ending at the Land’s End Labyrinth where he had a little surprise for her… in the form of a beautiful and very unique engagement ring! Amy had a tiiiiny bit a suspicion that something was up, since she noticed he wore nicer shoes than usual (nothing escapes the attentive girlfriend!), but one of her first reactions was regretting that she didn’t wear something cuter for the occasion; on the contrary, I thought she chose just the right outfit for this day 🙂 [ read more … ]

If I had to shoot at only one place and time of day for the rest of my life, I’d choose the Sutro Baths sunset in a heartbeat. The light there is absolutely incredible, especially as we head into the fall season, and it’s actually quite different from day to day.
