While headed across the Golden Gate Bridge to go sailing with their friends, Ari received a call from one of them — unfortunately, he relayed, their departure was delayed for an hour, so they’d have to find something else to do to burn some time. When Neal shared his DIY proposal plan with me, I have to admit that I initially felt a mix of excitement and concern. The idea of a wooden arch, torches, candles, and flowers sounded lovely, but I couldn’t help but wonder about the potential challenges. What if setup took longer than expected? If ever there was a proposal that worked out like pure magic, Hunter and Alicia’s was it. During a getaway stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, Hunter and Alicia went out for an evening walk by the beach, quickly stopping by the cliffside on the way down. While Alicia was enjoying the ocean view, Hunter pulled out the ring he had been hiding, said a few sweet words, and got down on one knee to propose to the love of his life, surrounded by the beauty of the golden hour sun shining over the ocean.
