Tammy and Chris exchanged their “I do”s at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon under a bright and sunny summer sky. For this couple, the most important part of their wedding was the guests, and above all, their family. Tammy carried with her a rosary with her father’s picture and kept it wrapped around her left hand during the ceremony, and she also lit a tribute candle in his memory. Tammy’s brother walked her down the aisle, and later shared a very touching dance with her during the reception. On the other side of the aisle, Chris chose his father to be one of his groomsmen — something I totally think more grooms should do! — and to unite them in marriage, Chris’s uncle, a priest, performed the ceremony. This sweet couple flew all the way from their home in Calgary to San Francisco — where they had their first date four years ago. We had gotten so used to seeing the summer fog, and the especially-thick cover earlier that week, that when we arrived at Baker Beach to capture I&J’s proposal, the sight of the Golden Gate Bridge actually felt strange. It was as if the bridge was painted or didn’t belong there. And the sunset that night was nothing short of amazing, with its golden glow accentuating the color of the bridge. [ read more … ]

In between all our late-summer weddings and surprise proposals, we had the pleasure of hanging out with Renate and Keith’s family at the beautiful Montara State Beach. Back in the spring, we had donated a family photo session to the Ocean Shore School here in Pacifica for their fundraising auction, and this sweet family won our photo session. We’re still pretty new residents of the area, but are really excited to be giving back in whatever little ways we can. [ read more … ]

Sam’s proposal was a very special one. Sure, the Sausalito Bridgeway promenade is a very picturesque spot, great for a romantic walk along the Bay, but it was also much more than that: decades ago, Sam’s dad proposed at the same spot! I really love it when our couples incorporate such meaningful and personal things like that 🙂 And Christina’s reaction was so cute when she realized we were there snapping photos of the proposal, which you can see in the photos below. She was so excited that her hands were still shaking even while we were doing portraits afterwards! Congrats guys!
