This sweet couple flew all the way from their home in Calgary to San Francisco — where they had their first date four years ago. We had gotten so used to seeing the summer fog, and the especially-thick cover earlier that week, that when we arrived at Baker Beach to capture I&J’s proposal, the sight of the Golden Gate Bridge actually felt strange. Sam’s proposal was a very special one. Sure, the Sausalito Bridgeway promenade is a very picturesque spot, great for a romantic walk along the Bay, but it was also much more than that: decades ago, Sam’s dad proposed at the same spot! I really love it when our couples incorporate such meaningful and personal things like that 🙂 And Christina’s reaction was so cute when she realized we were there snapping photos of the proposal, which you can see in the photos below. She was so excited that her hands were still shaking even while we were doing portraits afterwards! Congrats guys!

Simran had been planning his romantic Labor Day weekend surprise to his girlfriend Amita for more than a month, and contacted us after deciding on the San Jose Rose Garden. The Rose Garden is really great this time of year, as it’s covered with flowers of all colors in full bloom. The couple strolled through the garden taking lots of flower photos (Amita had actually gotten a new camera!) while we followed loosely behind. When the time came, under the soft sunset light, Simran got down on his knee and popped the question! Congrats you two — you’re too cute!

Viral had a romantic evening planned for Shital while she was in town visiting him for the long weekend — a quick sightseeing trip up to Battery Spencer to take a few selfies overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, followed by a nice dinner in Sausalito. Of course, as you can see below, a few selfies turned into a lot more when he got down on one knee and surprised his girlfriend with a romantic proposal with this stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco Bay, and the city in the background! Being avid hikers, Jeremy and Nicole took advantage of their trip to the Bay Area to find some new spots to explore. The Linda Mar Beach/Pacifica State Beach is one of my favorite spots around here, so I’m really glad Jeremy liked my suggestion! It’s a pretty easy trail which goes up along a cliff facing the Pacific Ocean and offers beautiful views of the beach and ocean down below. Jeremy led his future wife to an overlook at the edge of the cliff before dropping down on one knee, giving them a beautiful backdrop for the proposal. [ read more … ]
