Cavallo Point and Twin Peaks made a great combination of locations for this engagement shoot. With a beautiful San Francisco skyline and Golden Gate Bridge behind us near the Presidio Yacht Club, and a twilight view looking down on a lit-up city at Twin Peaks, these backdrops were a perfect complement for each other. Weather can be a funny thing. As I was driving down from San Francisco for Savauna & J’s Point Lobos engagement session, the skies were perfectly clear and sunny. It wasn’t until I started to turn into the park that the thick fog suddenly creeped up on me!

But it’s actually kind of interesting, as all the fog gives the scene a peaceful, serene feel, and by fading everything else away, it naturally focuses all the attention on where it should be — Savauna & J! [ read more … ]

One year after T&A got engaged, and four months after their wedding, we met up again for their Pulgas Water Temple “engagement anniversary” session. The Temple is a serene and beautiful little spot on the western end of Redwood City, neatly hidden away from the bustling civilization nearby. We had the honor of photographing Will proposing to Sam under a golden spotlight at the Palace of Fine Arts in August (see pics here), and exactly four months later, we met them on the UCLA campus for their engagement photos. UCLA is where they had both gone to school and grown closer as a couple, and I’m really glad our travel plans lined up and we were able to take their engagement photos in a meaningful spot for them!
