Shooting a wedding at Yosemite has been on our bucket list for a while now, and Katherine & Chris gave us our wish earlier this month — and in the process, we got to spend a day with the coolest couple. Our day was packed with fun and adventure: after an early morning drive into the park, we met up with them at Tunnel View for a cute little first look, then headed to Cathedral Beach where about a dozen of their closest friends & family gathered for the wedding ceremony. Afterwards, we regrouped at Glacier Point and then made the hike over to Taft Point where we all braved the cold for the sunset to peek out for a brief minute — which is all we needed for some epic sunset photos. Look at that gown and this absolutely glowing couple! I had a blast chasing the evening light with Nia and Ryan for their Half Moon Bay sunset photos on the beach. We walked in the woods and along the beach, and the couple even splashed around in the water a bit for a few fun shots. Jed had a planned a weekend getaway on the Mendocino coast with Katie, and originally he was going to kick it off by proposing to her once they had arrived. As the plan solidified though, he eventually decided to do it at the beginning of their trip so that they could fully enjoy their wine tasting and glamping trip as an engaged couple. So on the drive north, they stopped in the Marin Headlands by Rodeo Beach and took a short hike up to the cliffs, right next to where I was surreptitiously waiting. D&A’s wedding was a uniquely special one for us. Our first encounter with this wonderful couple was at their intimate COVID-era wedding last year. From the start, it was clear that they were a down-to-earth, genuinely sweet couple who weren’t looking to be the center of attention, but just wanted to cherish every moment spent with family and friends. This year, they had the chance to celebrate their love with an even larger gathering, where they beautifully intertwined their Indian and Asian heritage into a perfect wedding day at the SF Botanical Garden and Conservatory of Flowers at Golden Gate Park.
