Anna & Adam | Sebastopol Backyard Engagement Session

​​You know when you meet a couple and you just click? Adam and Anna were definitely that couple. We loved hearing their proposal story: Anna’s family has a long beekeeping tradition, and prior to the proposal, Adam worked with her parents to create their own batch of honey. He then proposed with jars of their honey right in Anna’s parents’ backyard, and as if that wasn’t “sweet” enough, Anna proposed right back with a ring she had been hiding! [ read more … ]

Adam & Lily | Engagement Photos at Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous Ice Cream Shop

We did something a little different than usual for Adam & Lily’s engagement session and started off at Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous, a cute little ice cream shop in the Dogpatch. How fun! Maylene & Alejandro | Classic Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel Wedding

Annie and I flew to the east coast last month for Maylene & Alejandro’s Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel wedding. That weekend marked many “firsts” for us (we had never been to Pennsylvania!), but the biggest one is that it was our first time photographing a close friend’s wedding. We normally get to know all of our couples pretty well by the time we show up on their wedding day, but it’s really a different experience to look through the lens and focus on every expression, every smile, and every tear for someone we’ve known for half our lives… and I’m so glad we did it!

Erroll’s Proposal to Erikamarie at Baker Beach

Our clients often get understandably concerned about the weather in San Francisco, which is commonly overcast. But it’s actually a blessing in many ways! At popular locations like Baker Beach, the sun draws in huge crowds while clouds drive people away, leaving a beautiful, clean background for our couple, often with a dreamy Golden Gate Bridge background shrouded in mist and haze. And the even lighting is especially great for proposals, as it reduces the need for us to worry about directional lighting, letting us capture the crucial moment from any direction. [ read more … ]
