Both originally Bay Area natives, Andrew and Deirdra first met in San Francisco and their relationship blossomed here. The next chapter in their story began last year when Andrew proposed while they were in London during a trip across Europe, and we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to join them on their wedding day a few weeks ago at the Wild Oak Saddle Club!

The morning began at an Airbnb where Deirdra got ready with her mom and bridesmaids, and at the Flamingo where Andrew and the guys (and Lady, that cute forever puppy you see in the photos) went through their preparations. Deirdra had a not-so-little surprise for the girls: they’d be getting a ride on Rosie, the big red trolley, and they had a blast together! But first, a quick detour. Where should I start? Emily and Max are two lovebirds who are just sooooo in love with each other, and I think they must’ve taken up modeling as their secret second career, because they were so easy and comfortable in front of my cameras. Emily really loves the beach vibe, so for their engagement session we went to the Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail. Treasure Island has always been one of my favorite places for photos, yet it’s often underappreciated and overlooked. It offers a beautiful view of both the San Francisco city skyline and the Bay Bridge, and the sunset colors are just amazing. Anoushka & Chris are getting married next year in Greece (what a dream!), and to capture some flavor from their home city of San Francisco, they decided to take a set of Treasure Island engagement photos. Sindy & Gabe wanted some night-time Embarcadero pier engagement photos, so we scheduled their session right through the sunset so we could be there after nightfall. I loved their interactions with each other – so warm and intimate, and such a joy to photograph. As the colorful dusk sky faded and the San Francisco cityscape started twinkling with lights, we walked down the pier for a couple of really special night photos, and I’m excited to share some of them with you!

Sutro Baths is, by far, our most popular location for engagement photos. But not so much for proposals, and for good reason — logistically it’s quite a bit more complicated than other San Francisco locations, and while that’s not really an issue with normal photo shoots, surprise proposals are special in that we can’t interact with our couple and guide them.
