Xander & Andrea’s Wedding Day at The Mountain Terrace in Woodside

The sun-kissed grove of redwoods at The Mountain Terrace in Woodside provided the perfect backdrop for Xander and Andrea’s wedding day. As a couple who loves to travel and hike, they couldn’t have chosen a more fitting location to get married than here, a small clearing in the redwoods, nestled in the mountains of Woodside. As their photographers, we had the honor of capturing their love story from the surprise proposal to their engagement session (on a mountain and in the woods, of course), and it was a true delight to continue witnessing their journey through this beautiful day of celebration.

The wedding day began with Xander and Andrea getting ready separately, anticipation and excitement filling the air until they each arrived at the venue’s redwoods for their first look. As Xander turned around to see his bride, their emotions overflowed with genuine expressions of love and happiness, and afterwards, we took advantage of the forest light to capture some portraits for the two of them and also their wedding party.

All the wedding details and decor placed the couple’s love of nature and travel on display: the save-the-dates & invitation suite, the very unique redwood sign-in canvas, table name cards, and even cornhole bags followed a travel motif, and it all felt not only well put together, but super personal and expressive of them as a couple.

The ceremony opened with the strums of a guitarist setting the perfect ambiance while Xander, the bridal party, and finally Andrea walked down the aisle. It was filled with smiles and laughter, and their lighthearted vows were both endearing and entertaining for all in attendance (including us!). This theme continued throughout the day, as laughter and tears of joy mingled with heartfelt toasts, and as love and warmth radiated from every corner of the venue through the reception and into the night.
