Owen & Rachel’s Bald Mountain Surprise Proposal

Bald Mountain, aptly named for its visible lack of trees in the otherwise densely forested Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, offers a sweeping panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, the Almaden Reservoir, and southern San Jose. It would make the perfect location for Owen’s surprise proposal to Rachel, as they’re both avid hikers and have enjoyed being in the area before. Owen even scouted ahead to make sure the location would be perfect — and it was!

On the big day, Owen arrived early to surprise Rachel at the spot where he would propose, while she was being fed a story by her friends to keep the surprise under wraps. They brought her to the trail, where Owen met up with her and walked together before stopping at the spot that I’m sure is now cemented forever in their minds and their relationship as the place where they officially got engaged.
