Keya & Cindy’s Berkeley Grizzly Peak Sunset Picnic Proposal

Even though the “yes” was already a foregone conclusion, the when/where/how was all up to Keya to plan… because that’s part of the fun of it all, right? Cindy did have one request for the proposal though: he had to “try.” So Keya set out on a multi-month journey to decide how best to make his proposal the memory of a lifetime.

After careful consideration, Keya decided to pop the question while on a work trip to the Bay Area, up in the Berkeley hills along Grizzly Peak. The location he chose has a spectacular view of the Bay, especially at sunset when the sun is setting over the Pacific Ocean. On the morning of the big day, Keya and I met up for brunch (he was “meeting with coworkers”) to chat about the plan and to get him wired up with a microphone for the video that you’ll see below, and then it was time to get prepared!

As the sun started to descend into the hills of Marin, we waited quite literally in the bushes (with Kathy of Experiences by K, who set up the beautiful decor) as Keya and Cindy arrived — exactly on time, to the minute, I might add — and captured the whole thing in photos + video. The verdict is in: she said yes, she will marry him, and yes, he definitely did try.
