Al-Lee & Charles’s Lush Carmel Valley Wedding
Al-Lee and Charles are, without a doubt, one of our most unique couples. I had always thought that we (Annie and David) were total opposites — until we met Al-Lee and Charles. She’s the vivacious, life-of-the-party bride with a very colorful personality (and palette!), while he is the calm and relaxed groom who, underneath that reserved facade, is a loving and ever-supportive husband. Well… opposites attract, right?
As photographers, we had a lot of fun with this wedding. Al-Lee is quite the fashionista: during their wedding weekend, we photographed seven pairs of designer shoes for her, and she wore three equally-gorgeous gowns at different times. For the rehearsal dinner, Al-Lee and her ladies wore rainbow-themed dresses, and for the wedding day, they all wore white. Easy on the eyes and quite photogenic on camera!
Although there were a ton of events packed into the wedding day, it was super enjoyable and actually kind of relaxing for us, as it was just like a scaled-up version of their micro-wedding last year at the same venue… but in contrast to the small and intimate ceremony of 2020, this one was a grand affair with a ceremony performance, horse and carriage, and of course, a huge group of lively, energetic guests, all of whom had been waiting years to celebrate with Al-Lee & Charles. And one really cool part of this event: the catering was provided by their own restaurant, The Crow’s Nest!
I could go on and on about the beautiful floral design, incredible toasts, and energetic dancing, but I really want to get you right to the photos — there’s just so much eye candy from all parts of the day. Check out some of the highlights from this beautiful, lush Carmel Valley wedding below!
