Harriet & Anthony’s Los Altos History Museum Wedding
We first met Harriet and Anthony in 2019 and were super excited for their 2020 wedding… and then, of course, the world ran into a small speed bump. But they did end up getting married on their original wedding day! (You can actually see a photo from their backyard ceremony in the first photo below.) And one year later, we got to join them for a absolutely charming anniversary celebration with all of their loved ones.
It was a beautiful wedding day at the Los Altos History Museum: we started off with a really cute first look in the garden, followed by a short ceremony with perfectly-written personal vows. We both really enjoyed how their celebration was very much a wedding, but at the same time not taken too seriously by the bride & groom, and they had a lot of fun with it.
One particularly memorable moment for me was during the reception, when Harriet’s parents were giving their toast in Chinese with Harriet acting as the live translator. Everyone, including us, had a good laugh when her parents got to praising their daughter and reciting a list of all her admirable qualities (of which there are many), with the bride at first attempting to faithfully translate it all into English for the guests, but eventually ending up condensing the increasing amounts of parental praise into shorter and more entertaining English summaries. I think only Harriet could have done this as lightheartedly and with as much grace 😀
And there was a very sweet surprise for our bride: her cousin and aunt, who couldn’t make it to California in person, joined via Zoom from Australia during the reception. All in all, it was a ton of fun for everyone, and you’ll see lots of smiles in the photos. (Especially during the shoe game.)
The Museum ended up being perfect little wedding venue too, with its beautiful garden ceremony area, a shaded, breezy outdoor reception space, and a sunny orchard perfect for photos just across the street — which we took full advantage of, as you’ll see in the photos.
Congrats to Harriet and Anthony on their second annual wedding (this will be a yearly thing right?) and we’ll all see you again next August?
