Monica & Julian’s Fairview Metropolitan Wedding | Oakland Wedding Photographer

Monica & Julian’s Fairview Metropolitan wedding in Oakland was as beautiful as it was special. The day started off in Daly City where they got ready separately, then we drove over to Crown Memorial State Beach for their first look — which was perfect, be sure to check out the little squeeze 😀 — and some family and bridal party photos.

Their ceremony at Fairview Metropolitan was short and sweet, and I think captured the essence of their relationship together in a cute and entertaining way. Afterwards, they danced their way back down the aisle while guests blew bubbles at them, making for some fun photos. It’s a wonderful idea that I hope to see more of! We actually enlisted a couple of bridesmaids with bubble guns to help add a bit more fun to their sunset photos 🙂

Perhaps the most entertaining, and certainly the most energized, part of this wedding day was at their reception inside the wedding tent. We loved their special surprise dance, a performance of Monica & Ross’s dance routine from Friends, which is one of their favorite TV shows. And we’ve never seen such an enthusiastic and excited crowd join the couple on the dance floor! Everyone was having such a great time, and even formed a circle for break dancing at the end of the night. I guess it should come as no surprise, since Julian and some of the guys had been part of a break dancing group in the past! It was a lot of fun, and I think the events and energy of the wedding day were a perfect celebration of Julian & Monica and their personalities!
