Sarah & Jonathan | San Jose Woman’s Club Wedding
Our featured couple this week is Sarah & Jonathan. After getting ready separately early in the day, they had a cute first look in front of Tower Hall, on the San Jose State University campus where they first met. We then went over to the San Jose Woman’s Club where their family & friends were gathered for their ceremony. After reading their vows, exchanging rings, and communion, Sarah & Jonathan celebrated by having one of their favorite treats: a 7-Eleven slurpee!
Their reception was a blast, and one of the most entertaining ones I’ve been to. I think it’s quite evident in the photos below! It started off with their grand entrance: everyone was gathered in a giant circle while the couple ran in and high-fived all of their excited, cheering guests.
My favorite part of the night was, for sure, the shoe game. If you aren’t familiar, this game puts the couple on center stage, sitting back-to-back so they can’t see each other. They each trade one shoe so each person is holding one of each. Next, the host (the DJ in this case) asks a series of questions (like “who is better dressed”) submitted by guests at each table, and the couple answers by raising a shoe. While the questions and answers from the game on this night were completely and unequivocally hilarious, the game showed that Jonathan and Sarah are really a great match for each other and they gave quite consistent answers! Well, except for the “better dressed” question… there was some disagreement there ? (Funny side note: our DJ, ever the professional, skipped entire tables’ worth of presumably-inappropriate questions, only saying, “nope, can’t read that… nope gotta skip that one…” while quickly leafing through pages of guests’ questions.)
It was a wonderful wedding and a memorable night, and we’re so glad to have been there ? Congrats Sarah & Jonathan!
