Durell & Karla | Stanford Campus Surprise Marriage Proposal

Durell’s proposal to Karla at Stanford was thoughtfully planned, beautifully prepared, and perfectly executed. The two had met each other many years ago as Stanford students, and so it was fitting for the proposal to be at the Stanford main quad near the Stanford Memorial Church. Durell dropped by the day before to check out the area, and he even sent us a selfie of him in the spot where he was planning to propose so that we’d know exactly where to lie in wait.

The day of his proposal was one of the most romantic we’ve ever seen. The day started off in the morning with “faith”: the two took flying lessons together right near campus; next was “love,” as the couple went to a restaurant serving Karla’s favorite food; and finally, “commitment,” as Durell knelt down below the walkway arches and placed the ring on her finger.

Congrats you two — and what a wonderful story for the kids!
