Tim and Melissa’s Surprise Engagement at Viader Winery | Napa Valley Wedding Photographer

When Tim first contacted me I knew this surprise proposal was going to be one of a kind! He originally set the proposal at the beautiful Auberge Du Soleil restaurant but unfortunately the venue has a policy that doesn’t allow professional photography. After some research, Tim found Viader Vineyards and Winery — a hidden Napa gem with breathtaking views overlooking the Valley. And thanks to the super accommodating staff there, they made sure things went as smoothly as possible. They even peeked out and quietly cheered Tim on when he dropped down on one knee 🙂

When my assistant and I arrived at the venue, Tim and Melissa were having their private wine tasting outside. As I walked past them pretending to be shooting portraits for my assistant, Melissa said to me “I love your dress!” and I immediately fell in love with her 🙂 All through their wine tasting, I could hear Melissa laughing from afar and knew it was going to be an emotional one. And guess what? All of Tim’s preparation paid off as this was the most emotional proposal I have ever seen!! Melissa laughed and cried the whole session and there were so many precious moments!
